Principal’s Message
Outstanding Attendance Data
Congratulations to our students who are consistently attending school. I appreciate that many families have moved their holidays to outside of the school term, to the holiday period, or have limited the in school term absences where possible.
At the end of the term, we will once again hand out attendance merit cards.
The regional data shows we have 96.3% of student daily attendance compared with 95.4% of our like school group.
Regular daily attendance has a huge impact on student’s learning, their social connection and resilience. Please keep sending your child to school unless they are sick and don't allow days off school for no apparent reason as your child will be marked as unjustified leave.
New Staff Jackets
The staff have purchased a fabulous school staff jacket for playground duty and sports days. We are loving them. Thanks to Mrs Williams for organising them.

Athletics Carnival Postponed
Due to wet weather last week, we had to postpone the 3-6 Athletics Carnival until Monday 11 August (Term 3 Week 4) at Dunbar Park in Marsfield.
End of term Gold Awards
If your child is hoping to receive a gold Award at the end of this term, please note that the cut off date for handing in three silver Awards is 3:00 pm on Monday 16 June.

St Ives North Awards Pathways
Our award pathways at St Ives North acknowledge and celebrate student effort and achievement. The merit award pathway is for effort and success in the classroom. The school spirit pathway celebrates success in sport, school spirit, participation and music. In both pathways, students have the opportunity to work towards a gold award through R cards, merit cards / spirit merit cards, silver and gold awards.
Silver awards are presented at regular school assemblies and gold award recipients receive their certificate at the Principal's Gold Assembly at the end of each term. Parents are invited to attend when your child receives a gold award.
Please see the pathways summarised in the images below:

Respect: I show kindness and empathy towards others inside the classroom and on the playground.
What does this look like?
- When I feel frustrated, I stop and think before I speak and act.
- I use words to show my appreciation by saying please and thank you.
- I speak to others as I would like them to speak to me.
The character strength of kindness will help me when showing respect towards others in the classroom and on the playground.
K-6 Years News
Crazy Hair Day
On Friday 27 June, our K-6 students will participate in a fun and vibrant Crazy Hair Day to raise funds for Stewart House. Students are encouraged to come in their most creative hairstyles and we are asking for a $2 online donation via School Bytes per student to support this wonderful cause. This initiative not only allows our students to express their creativity but also teaches them the importance of helping other children in need. Thank you to our wonderful SRC students and to Mrs Cady, Mrs Marcus and Mrs Levine for supporting our students in this community-minded project. Let’s come together for a day of fun and generosity!
Here is some information about Stewart House:
Since 1931, Stewart House has supported public school children in need with essential health care, confidence-building activities, and a safe space to reset, grow, and look toward a brighter future. This unique organisation is the NSW Department of Education’s Charity of Choice and provides a free 12-day residential program to around 1,600 public school children each year from across NSW and the ACT. These children are nominated by their schools because they could benefit from a break from challenging circumstances at home. During their stay, children receive health and wellbeing checks, engage in fun and confidence-building activities, and experience a caring and supportive environment that encourages personal growth. For many, it’s the first time they’ve been away from home, seen the beach, or felt truly safe and supported. By taking part in Crazy Hair Day, your school community is helping Stewart House continue this life-changing work, giving children a break and a chance to see new possibilities for their future.
